A few people have emailed me telling me they're on the fence and don't know what to do.
I sent the following email to someone who was undecided and she told me it pushed her to lean Obama. Maybe she was just flattering me, but, hey it's crunch time...so here goes:
I can tell you, from having worked in politics for 20 years, that I really sense this is a historic moment.
I see it in the 15 people that came to my office on Wednesday and, because there were no desks left, sat around my conference table with their own laptops and their own cell phones to make calls in support of Obama.
I've never seen anything like it.
I also worked in Congress under Clinton - all the Republicans that I knew who worked on Capitol Hill really disliked - hated - Bill Clinton. They worked solely to prevent him from doing anything - thus the gridlock.
One of the big things I've come to believe is that in order to make the changes we all want is that the next president is going to need to win with more than just 51%. I fear that it's statistically impossible for Hillary to win much more than 50%. Her husband never got over 50% and everyone supposedly loves him more than her.
There are just too many people who will never support her - both voters and members of Congress - to give her the mandate we all want. I think that's why you're seeing so many swing state governors endorsing Obama. They know he can win in their states, while it will be an uphill battle for Hillary.
I really believe that is a once-in-a-generation chance.
