From my good friend Yvette:
Friends and Family,In case you haven’t heard, I’ve been practically living at the Obama HQ in LA this past week. I haven’t seen the kids in three days (ok, they are asleep when I crawl in). I haven’t been inspired like this since Barbara Boxer ran for Senate in 1992. I’m not the only one inspired — our little office can’t keep up with the demand of volunteers and incredible energy that has come our way in the past couple of days.
I have been handling the Spanish language press and earned media program. My cell phone has been ringing off the hook with press inquiries coming in from all around the world. Everyone wants to talk about the Latino vote and the impact Latinos will have in this election. This morning I woke up at 5am to staff our volunteers in East LA for an interview with Tom Brokaw and his crew from NBC Nightly News. This afternoon, NPR producers from All Things Considered came in to talk to our supporters about the Latino vote; and this evening, the Mexico City TV network of Televisa showed up to film black, brown, white and Asian young volunteers on the phone banks. It is incredible.
I want to make sure that whether or not you vote for Barack, that you vote on February 5th. It is so important. And if you are voting for Obama — thank you. Thank you for believing and for helping our country lift up this man with his incredible gift of bringing people together to change our world for the better. !Si se Puede! Check out this video below and enjoy!
All my love and friendship,
Yvette
